PMI Dayton is looking for volunteers to support TechFest 2020, which will be Saturday, February 15 (10 AM to 6 PM) and Sunday, February 16, (11 AM to 5 PM) at the downtown campus of Sinclair Community College (Building 12 - Ponitz Center - 30I West Fourth Street Dayton, Ohio).  TechFest is FREE Family fun for youth K-12 with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). There are approximately 70 hands-on exhibits and demonstrations conducted by practicing professionals and about a dozen "Info-tainment" speakers who share their excitement about the fun they have in their STEM careers.  Over 75% of families stay over 3 hours.  Parking is also free.

Since 2013, the  Dayton / Miami Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute has supported TechFest by delivering behind the scenes support, made possible by the support from Lyle Lockwood.  Many have provided skill and enthusiasm for registration, data entry, speaker support, greeters, Project Management wizards, preparation of registration bags, announcers, and more.  Volunteers not only get the fun and reward of giving back to students, but they also get PDUs for volunteering!

We use the tool EventBrite to register volunteers.  You can select your choices within Eventbrite to register as a volunteer by using the following URL:    Password to Register and Volunteer: TechFest-2020

Members and friends can select as many volunteer opportunities of their choice and quantity of tasks that they desire, which are available in 2-hour blocks.

Ways to help assure the success of TechFest include:

  • Promote TechFest at your local school
  • Help with hands-on exhibits
  • Promote TechFest with scouts and other youth groups
  • Share information at Church, work place, etc.

Thank you for your commitments and time!
