Affiliates Society Council's (ASC) focus is on providing a positive influence on the quality of education at all levels within the community by identifying continuing education requirements from industry and other users and communicating these needs to educational institutions. Each year, ASC is the host for TechFest. TechFest is a free fun family event whose goal is to encourage youth K-12 to study Math and Science in their normal educational environment-public, parochial, charter or home school. It is a family-oriented festival of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) where kids and their families participate in hands-on interactive exhibits.
Dayton PMI supports ASC by participating and supporting TechFest each year as part of their Student Outreach program.
University of Dayton graduating MIS majors work throughout the senior year in student-led teams on information system development projects in local organizations. Each team serves as an external consultant and has total responsibility for all phases of systems development. This capstone experience gives our students the opportunity to apply everything they have learned in MIS, other business disciplines, written and oral communications, project management, team management, and other areas.
As part of the Student Outreach program, Dayton PMI supports the UD MIS senior project by sharing the concepts of the PMBOK with the students and providing volunteers to participate in the judging of the projects.
