PMI January 2017 President’s Message
Welcome to 2017! Project Management has never been as crucial as it is today with global organizations, cultural impacts on projects and an understanding of project management as the driver of strategy. And so, there was never a better time for us as project managers to join hands and learn from each other’s experiences or just pick a colleague’s brain who has been there, done that.
The new year is a time for introspection, new beginnings excite us. As you make and sustain your resolutions, I invite you to look closely at your involvement with PMI. Do you attend some chapter meetings? Maybe you can attend one more this year. Do you like volunteering your time and helping others learn? Maybe you can help out with PMP certification program in spring. I want to thank you as we start the year for your continued support and membership of PMI Dayton/ Miami Valley Chapter. Our position as a compact, close knit market chapter is not only unique but also very favorable. We have the opportunity to grow this chapter to its highest potential and create a close, meaningful network full with benefits of learning and development, career growth and mentorship.
This year, the opportunities to be engaged with PMI and network with people who face day to day work challenges like you will be ample. We are kicking off the year with a Chapter Strategy Meeting where members participate in and help brainstorm and enhance the board strategy. It is an excellent opportunity to impact where our chapter is headed, what grows our membership, and what will make our members strong together. To prepare for that meeting, if you have not already done so, please be sure to provide your feedback via the member survey by 1/14/2017. 2016 Membership Survey The Strategy Meeting will also be an opportunity to meet the new board! Please mark your calendars for this February 23rd meeting and rest of the dates through the year. http://daytonpmi.org/meetinginfo.php
I am pleased to announce our new board for 2017, who have graciously accepted to invest their time and energy in our Chapter. This year in addition to other board positions, we have added a Director of Sponsorship position to help our Chapter grow and provide better quality speakers. To achieve this, we will need your help in bringing sponsors to us and learning about our sponsor offerings.
