2020 Scheduling skills Session

You started 2020 with a great strategy, blending big ideas and ambitious goals.  As you get ready to close on the first quarter of this year, are you on track to meet your next major milestone or deliverable?   Maybe an increased emphasis on integrated scheduling would help to keep you on, or get you back on, track.  Please join us for an interactive and fun session focused on sharpening your scheduling skills.

Ms. Michelle Schaefer, PMI-SP, will present and officiate a team-based “Scheduling Jeopardy” game.  This will be a team-based, friendly competition in which each table will have an opportunity to review Michelle’s scheduling primer sheet and discuss potential answers to Jeopardy style questions.  Michelle will also highlight, via the game, how to prepare for the PMI Scheduling Professional (SP) certification exam and, as time permits, how she has leveraged her SP certification and training to benefit many programs throughout her career.

Professional Development Units:   All attendees will earn one Professional Development Unit (PDU) (in the area of Technical) for use towards the Project Management Professional (PMP) recertification.

Biography/Introduction for Michelle R. Schaefer, PMI-SP

After a 15-year commercial career in the retirement planning and investments industry following attainment of the requisite licenses, Michelle Schaefer began her Government career as an auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. She subsequently held various Financial Management positions on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and while working at Booz Allen Hamilton, Michelle began working with Boeing to develop the maintenance and upgrade schedules for the 6 aircraft in the US Presidential Fleet (Air Force 1, Air Force 2, etc.). She enjoyed the challenge of aligning often conflicting schedule constraints and ultimately discovered her new focus in the Government world.

 

Prior to starting her own consulting company, she worked for Whitney, Bradley, and Brown and was assigned to Special Operations Forces, Personnel Recovery Division. Michelle integrated required aircraft depot maintenance and upgrade modifications into the first master schedule ever integrated and developed for the 3rd largest procurement program in the Air Force. She linked tasks from different aircraft upgrades to show – in real time – how a date change for a single plane in one upgrade could affect the HC-130J fleet for years to come. This enabled senior leadership to make more informed and efficient decisions.

 

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wright State University, a Paralegal Certificate from Capital University Law School, an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a certified Scheduling Professional from the Project Management Institute. She is an avid reader and writer, has been a ham radio operator for over 40 years, and enjoys cycling with her husband, Bill, all over Ohio. She welcomes all scheduling questions/comments.
