3 Day Agile Certification Professional (ACP) Prep Class

PMI-ACP® Certification Training

The Dayton/Miami Valley PMI Chapter is pleased to offer PMI-ACP® certification training in the form of a 21-hour, three day boot camp designed to prepare attendees to sit for the PMI-ACP exam, experience agile, and improve career skills.  Students will work with and experience agile the entire time. Agile is imbedded in the pedagogic format.  The class is taught as 21 hours of Scrum preparing students for ACP certification training and workplace use of agile.

Dates: Thursday, June 21, 2018 - Saturday, June 23, 2018 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM each day

Cost: $595 for Dayton PMI Chapter Members; $995 for Non-Dayton PMI Chapter Members

Instructor Bio

Andy Burns PMP, PMI-ACP is the Chief Scrum Master for Siemens PLM leading 1,100 software engineers building the world’s best Product Lifecycle Management software.  Burns is a Management Consultant, Agile Coach, Program Manager and Product Development expert.  A frequent speaker at PMI Global Congresses and Leadership Institute Meetings, Burns has also spoken at Scrum Alliance events and other professional association meetings.

As a Registered Education Provider, Burns was one of the first in the world to offer PMI-ACP certification training.  More than a dozen iterations later the class continues to help numerous students see agile.  Burns teaches current iterations of the course exclusively as a Chapter Member hoping to impart the instructional technique to as many PMI chapters as possible.

Full Course Description

This training utilizes project-based learning techniques and teaches the course materials as a Scrum.  Students receive the RMC PMI-ACP® Exam Prep System including Mike Griffiths’ PMI-ACP Exam Prep book, Hot topics flash cards, and exam simulation software.  Electronic copies of all class materials are provided.  Students should plan to bring and utilize electronic devices during the class and to discuss all materials extensively.

The form of this class is experiential, Socratic, project-based learning.  The form of this class requires extensive participation and heavy facilitation.  Therefore, commitment to attend all sessions is required of each student. Refunds will not be offered.  Students must commit to participating extensively and to 100% attendance at all sessions. 

The instructor for this course is a seasoned agile program manager currently scrumming with 50 teams globally.  The class participants will use agile, become agile, and be ready for career opportunities and the PMI-ACP exam.

Schedule

June 21-23, Thursday – Saturday. Classes are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM – (includes coffee/protein in the morning, lunch, and afternoon water/light snacks)


Contact Hours 

Event PDUs: 21 --- 1 technical PDU per hour of class (for PMI Credential holders who attend class)

Number of Contact Hours = 21 plus hours --- 1 Contact Hour per hour of class (for PMI-ACP students)

 

Additional Information

Facility is smoke free.  No make-up class is available due to the format of this session.  Students must be able and commit and attend all sessions.

Cancellation Policy

As class size is limited and the class counts on your participation, please do not sign up if you are not sure of your ability to commit to 100% attendance.

On or before June 15 - $50 cancellation fee if registration is cancelled via e-mail to professionaldevelopment@daytonpmi.org.

After June 15 - No refunds will be issued.
